Alberto Martin (pronounced MarTEEN) was born on August 20, 1978 in Barcelona, Spain, started playing tennis at age six and turned pro in 1995. In June 2001 he achieved a world ranking of 34.

In his spare time he enjoys soccer, going out with friends, sub-aqua fishing and GIRLS (not necessarily in that order).

He also loves beaches, so we had no trouble getting him to agree to this photo shoot in Delray Beach, Florida during the International Tennis Championships 2003 where he reached the Quarterfinals. Naturally, he wanted us to know that "The best beaches are in Ibiza, Spain", where his brother works in a Tennis Club as a teaching pro.

The one thing that you'll notice - and like - about Alberto is that he's a genuinely 'nice' guy. Not conceited or full of his own importance as an international sporting 'personality' - just a 'down-to-earth', natural person and easy to get along with. And the reason he agreed to take time out of his training schedule to do this photo thing? To attract girls! (we wouldn't have thought he would need any help...).
