Rossana Neffa de los Rios |
Born in Paraguay, Rossana was a talented top junior player. In 1992, at the age of 16, she was member of the Paraguayan Fedcup and Olympic Team and winner of the Junior Championships at Roland Garros. She turned pro in 1993 but, within a year, put love before career and married a professional soccer player and quit tennis to follow her husband - a member of the Paraguyan National Team - around the world. A few years later, their daughter, Ana, was born. In June of 1999 she re-joined the pro circuit and, against all the odds and starting completely unranked in June of 1999, finished the season a few months later with a world ranking of 275. Two years later, Rossana Neffa de los Rios, achieved a ranking of 51 on the Sanex WTA Tour. Today she calls Miami home but is still traveling the world, accompanied by her husband Gustavo and daughter Ana Paula. But now, they watch her play.... |
